Engage are a large team of housing support staff who work city wide and support people on a one to one basis. We can support people who are at risk of losing their homes, people who want to live independently and those who want to enjoy greater involvement in their community.

Who we are

Engage Leeds is a citywide housing support service, providing one-on-one assistance to individuals and families at risk of losing their homes or wanting to live more independently. With a dedicated team of professionals, Engage Leeds offers tailored support to address housing challenges, improve well-being, and foster connections within the community. By collaborating with local partners and services, Engage Leeds empowers people to create sustainable solutions and achieve stability in their lives. Through their compassionate and personalised approach, Engage Leeds embodies a commitment to making housing support accessible and impactful across Leeds.

The Hub

Our Hub staff triage all referrals received by Engage Leeds. Referrals can be made by individuals or agencies. If Engage Leeds is not the right service, the team provides advice and short-term interventions. Communication methods are adapted to suit individual needs.

Advice Service

Engage Advice Service is an accredited service providing free, independent, flexible advice to people receiving support through Engage Leeds services. The team helps people access their benefit entitlements and maximise their income. They can help people challenge benefit decisions up to and including representation at appeal tribunal. In addition, the team raise social policy issues which impact the people we support such as welfare reforms and austerity. They regularly contribute to Select Committee Consultations to feed in the issues and barriers that people we support are experiencing.

Employment & Engagement Service

Engage Leeds Employment and Engagement Service helps people explore job opportunities, education, and training. We provide tailored support with CV writing, job applications, finding work experience, volunteering, and accessing learning opportunities.

Dementia Service

Our team supports individuals living with dementia or memory-related issues. They help with tenancy maintenance, liaising with health professionals, and connecting to community resources like Memory Cafés and peer support groups.

Housing Navigator

Housing Navigators provide intensive support for individuals with complex needs, including repeat homelessness, mental health issues, and substance misuse. They coordinate with services and ensure clients engage effectively with support systems.

Peer Support & Volunteering

Volunteers enhance well-being through physical activities, personal support, and goal-setting. They also assist with independent living skills, navigating public transport, and accessing learning opportunities. Volunteers work alongside or after Housing Support Workers as part of a coordinated plan.

Empowering Voices

At Engage Leeds, we champion the voices of the individuals and communities we support. Our team works closely with local organisations, agencies, and policymakers to advocate for positive change on behalf of those we serve. By highlighting the needs and challenges faced by people across Leeds, we aim to ensure that services, policies, and opportunities are accessible and inclusive for everyone.

A cornerstone of our advocacy is our exceptional Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (E,D&I) group, which brings together passionate individuals dedicated to driving meaningful change. Community Hub

At WFC, we’ve created a space that brings people together and supports them in their journey to thrive. From hosting lessons and workshops in our Teams Room to providing a calming environment in our Therapy Rooms, WFC is a place where everyone feels welcome.

Parent Mediation

Parent Mediation helps separating or divorcing couples resolve disputes about children without costly legal battles. Mediators support constructive discussions to reach agreements in the children’s best interests.

Family Mediation

Our Family Mediation service provides a safe space for young people and their and their Parent/carer to reduce conflict and improve communication. Sessions focus on preventing family breakdown and creating positive changes through a solution-focused approach.
