Drop In Services

You can call into Archway..

You can call in to Archway during our regular Drop-in sessions (see What’s On) to sign up as a new member, for Housing and Welfare Advice, or to use the facilities: phoning organisations, cyber-suite, laundry, or just chilling out in the drop-in area. For more information about GIPSIL’s Advice Service, see the Employment & Advice page.

Open Doors (Gipton & Harehills)

Help Through Crisis for young people (16-25) experiencing hardship, funded by the Big Lottery. Open Doors is a partnership between GIPSIL and Getaway Girls. Our aim is to achieve a ‘no wrong door’ partnership so that all young people approaching either of our organisations, or who we meet through our outreach services, can quickly be make an appointment with our Advice and Advocacy Workers and be offered support to address the issues which either have reached, or are threatening to reach, the point of crisis.

As well as through self-referral, young people will be able to access our services through a range of referral and partner agencies, including Leeds City Council’s Housing Options and Area Support teams; Job Centre Plus; and many voluntary, community and faith groups and organisations active in Gipton and Harehills.

Support Groups

At Archway, and other GIPSIL venues, we run peer support groups where young people can offer each other company, empathy and mutual support.

Parents Group:

For young parents aged 16-25. A group that meets once a week for socialising and activities, including cooking, parenting, trips out. Creche provided.

Daisies and Jasmines

Domestic Violence Peer Support Groups for women and children. GIPSIL hosts and supports two weekly groups in East Leeds, including crèche provision.

Families First

We are one of a small number of third sector organisations commissioned by Leeds City Council to help deliver their Families First programme as part of the Government’s national Troubled Families scheme. Its aim is to help families with a number of complex problems by working with them to help turn their lives around, improving outcomes for the whole family and thereby reducing the need for more intensive and costly interventions.

Counselling & Wellbeing

We offer a confidential therapeutic, counselling service with experienced counsellors to young people aged 16-25. Self referrals welcome, as well as referrals from external organisations. We work with young people on a 1-1 basis at a place of their choosing.  We look at ways of improving their health and finding positive ways forward.
